This is Resurrection week, when our Lord Jesus Christ resurrected from death. The meaning of “Resurrection” is “a rising again, as from decay, disuse, etc.; revival.” And also 1. The act of rising from the dead or returning to life. 2. The state of one who has returned to life. 3. The act of bringing back to practice, notice, or use; revival.
In other words, the meaning of “Resurrection” is reviving completely from an impossible or hopeless condition.
Jesus once spoke the parable of a father who had two sons. The younger son took his portion of goods and went to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country who sent him into his fields to feed swine. There he ate the pods that the swine ate and no one gave him anything. But he realized that his father’s hired servants had more than enough to eat but he was perishing with hunger.
He arose from his downtrodden stage and returned to his father. When his father saw him coming, he ran to meet him and his joy knew no bounds. The son repented of his misdeeds and pleaded to keep him as one of his hired servants. But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. Bring here the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry (Luke 15:11-24).
A lost son who was like a dead person forgotten by everybody, about whom everybody had lost hope declaring that he could not be found again has recovered and has been found again. You can see, how drastically bad was the son’s condition. But now he returned to his father never again to go back to his bad habits. Yes, this is resurrection.
This is the real meaning of resurrection, when a person comes back to life by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, being forgiven of his/her sins, transformed inside out and ready to live a new life which starts with Lord Jesus Christ.
For this purpose alone Jesus gave His precious life so that countless people could find salvation of their souls and have eternal life.
Good Friday and Easter are not any other festival that comes and goes without any significance, but specially designed for us so that we could get forgiveness of our sins. If you have not yet received this precious gift of God in your life, this is the moment when you can invite Jesus to come into your life and accept His gift of salvation in your life.

You Will Bloom Again!

Before the arrival of winter most of the trees shed their leaves. If you travel through woods, you can see rows and rows of trees having no leaves on their branches, giving the appearance of only gray lifeless trees and stems. The landscape looks dull and gray as if there is no life at all. But this does not last forever. The day of spring comes changing the whole environment in a split second. The same trees that seemed so lifeless, starts budding and soon laded with flowers. If you travel again through the same woods you could see flowers everywhere. Rows after rows and streets after streets everywhere trees would be blooming, cherries, magnolias, apples and what not. How beautiful it would look, that no poet could ever describe its beauty in fullness. That’s what spring does to environment. It brings the life back that was lost more than six months back. Spring fills color and life to the gray, dull and lifeless environment.
Resurrection of Jesus Christ brings the same transformation in the life of a person. It changes every dead, decaying, dull and gray situation and fills it with life, peace and great joy. On the cruel cross Jesus purchased pardon of our souls to give this wonderful life to us so that His life could flow through our lives. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
My friend, if your life has not seen the joy of resurrection, forgiveness of your sins and the peace that passes all understanding, you need this resurrected Christ in your life. If you feel that your life has nothing except the dull, gray, lifeless twigs scattered all around, you need the life giving resurrected Savior who can turn around your life completely.
Jesus came for this very purpose. He rose again and came out of the grave to raise you up and bring you out of the grave. No matter what your situation may be today, He can help you. He can turn your life around and make it a wonderful life. No matter how impossible it seems to you whether your life will ever bloom again, it will surely bloom with the resurrected Jesus because he will revive it
