In the mid 90's when we had our first computer, my brother used to play a game. The game was about price and princes. Both were put in separate dungeons. Now this prince tries to come out of that dungeon facing unimaginable circumstances and hurdles. There were soldiers, death traps and gates of iron bars. He had to take every step very carefully as otherwise it could be fetal. At that time the monitor had just black and white screen. One night my brother was playing this game and my sister and I were lying on our beds and watching. The prince jumped from a wall and came to a place where there was a skeleton. It seemed as if there was no danger for the prince. But as the prince took another step, suddenly the skeleton jumped up and killed the prince. It all unfolded so suddenly that we could not understand how it happened. My sister and I who were watching sat up on our beds and started to scream. It took several minutes to fathom what had actually happened. We could not stop laughing when we realized how silly was our reaction that reflected our fear.

But at times in real life things take sudden and unexpected turn and we just find ourselves bewildered, not knowing what to do. And often we express ourselves with screams, tears and fear. At times it seems very hard to face those situations.

One day Jesus' disciples were traveling by boat and suddenly they saw someone walking towards them on the surface of water. They assumed that it could be no one else except a ghost. They screamed with fear. Bible tells us in, "Mat 14:25-26, "Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear."

Jesus and His disciples had a very busy day that day. Multitudes were surrounding them and they had fed five thousand people that day. Immediately after that Jesus sent His disciples to go before Him to the other side. It was Jesus who sent them and now they were in trouble or at least they thought that they were in trouble. But there was Jesus in the midst of their trouble and fear. He stood there and consoled them as we read in Mat 14:27, "But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."

When Jesus spoke, all their fear was gone. Are you in the midst of trouble and fear today? Are you facing a situation that could have taken away your peace? Look to Jesus, He can turn your situation around. He would fill your hearts with great peace that this world cannot give.

LORD Made All he Did to Prosper

By Sherly Isaac

Gen 39:3, "And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand."

Story of Joseph in the Bible is a very unique story. Joseph was a wounded young man. His brothers betrayed him and sold him as a slave. Naturally speaking this young man as a slave had absolutely no future. If he had any dreams, he had to give up because it could not come to pass. If he wanted to become somebody, he had to force his mind to forget those thoughts because he was a mere slave.

But Joseph loved the Lord and Bible tells us that, 'Because LORD was with him, He made him to prosper.' Oh, yes, even in his slavery God made him prosperous.

Often people think that God is not interested in prosperity but here we read about Joseph that he became a successful and prosperous man in the house of his master. We read in Gen 39:2-3, "The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand."

Even Joseph's Egyptian master could realize that there was something different in the life of Joseph that is making him prosperous. So Joseph found favor in the sight of his Egyptian master under whom he served. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

Yes, my friend, God is interested in our prosperity and in our blessings. He wants to bless us and make us prosper. If we love Him and walk in His ways, He will surely prosper us.

After that, Joseph was falsely accused by his master's wife and was thrown into prison. Now he was in a more troublesome situation than before. He was not only a slave but also a prisoner. He was kept in the prison where people who committed crimes against kings and authorities. So his chances of coming out of that prison and to have a normal and good life were nearly impossible. If he had any dreams still left, that would have been crushed forever at this moment. He was in utter hopeless and helpless situation.

But my friend, let me tell you that if God is with us who can stand against us? No demons or no humans could ever destroy our lives but God will one day fulfill His promise and exalt us before others.

Now Joseph was in prison and he did not have any idea of what was ahead of him. But God not only made him to prosper even within the prison, but also made him to come in contact with king's butler through whom he could go to the king. Soon after that he became powerful ruler of Egypt. Had he not been thrown in to prison, he could never have reached the palace or could never have any chance to meet the king. Not only did all his dreams come true, not only did he became the most powerful person after the king in Egypt, but also he could meet his father and his estranged family many years later.

No matter how grim your situation appears to be, no matter how much hardship you have to face today, if you walk in the ways of God, He will one day exalt you and will deliver you from all your troubles. Bible says in 1Pe 5:6, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,"
