About three weeks back when we met one of our friends, we found her heart broken. She had just heard the news that the husband of one of her friends had terminal cancer. She was desperate and wanted to see him completely healed. But unfortunately he died within two weeks of the horrible news of his illness.
Though we had never met him, yet it was shocking for us. And I started to think how short our lives are! It was like just yesterday when we were playing in sand and making sand castles. It was like just yesterday when we were in school learning how to read and write. But how time flies by! And my friend, that day is not very far off when death will knock at the doors of our lives. Are we ready for that day?
We need to think big and we need to start thinking about our future from today itself because time will not stay for anybody. We need to think, where are we going to spend our eternity? It is not a joke and it is not a matter to be taken lightly.
Bible tells us that we have only one chance to get into heaven and that is while we are still having this life. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” As soon as this life ends there is judgment. It means that either you will end up in hell or in heaven. But you can make sure of your destination while you are still alive. You can know for sure whether you are going to heaven or not. Bible says in Jhn 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
God loves us so much that He gave His only son to die for us. He does not want us to perish and He does not want us to go to hell. But He wants us to repent from our sins and turn to Him. He has already done the work for our salvation. We have only to receive it. He died on the cruel cross so that we could have everlasting life. Today we can have eternal life because of His shed blood.
Often people ask, “How I will know for sure that my sins are forgiven and that I will go to heaven?” I would give you an example: If I am working on the kitchen table, if I have peeled the vegetables, all the peels and seeds are scattered on the table, but as soon as I finish my cutting job, I would come back and collect all the peels, seeds and throw it in the garbage can. Then I will wipe the table clean. Will you be able to see the difference between the cleaned table and unclean table? I am sure, you will.
That is what happens when Jesus comes in and cleanses a person from all his/her unrighteousness. All the past sins he/she committed would be forgiven and he/she would be given a brand new life. We read in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
When your sins are forgiven, a great peace and joy will fill in your heart. Your life will start to change. Everyone will see the difference. More than that, you are on the way to heaven that was promised by Jesus. What a privilege to get rid of our sins and enter into eternal life. What a joy to find peace with God. This experience could be yours if you just come to Jesus and repent from your sins and turn to Him.
Prosperity - God's Perfect Will - Part 4

As I said before, prosperity does not mean money alone but overall success in one's life. And God is very much interested to prosper His Children in all their ways.
In the Bible we read about Abraham who had a son named Isaac. Isaac was born in his old age. Now when he grew up, Abraham carefully thought and planned his wedding. Because he was in a foreign land and being aware of the commandments of God, he chose to bring the bride for his son from his father's house. Now this was not an easy job. There were no modern day vehicles as of today. The journey was long. This was a journey of about 500 miles, a journey that would have taken him more than two months to reach there. The faithful and oldest servant of Abraham was getting ready to do this task. He knew that just reaching there after a long journey was not enough, but he must be successful for which purpose he would journey for so long. His master Abraham also said to him that, "The LORD, before whom I walk, will send His angel with you and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son from my family and from my father's house."(Genesis 24:40) Further Abraham said to him in Genesis 24:41, "You will be clear from this oath when you arrive among my family; for if they will not give her to you, then you will be released from my oath.'
Then we see the earnest prayer of that servant and the answer to his prayer in Genesis 24:12-18, Then he said, "O LORD God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. Behold, here I stand by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, 'Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink'--let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master." And it happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. Now the young woman was very beautiful to behold, a virgin; no man had known her. And she went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up. And the servant ran to meet her and said, "Please let me drink a little water from your pitcher." So she said, "Drink, my lord." Then she quickly let her pitcher down to her hand, and gave him a drink."
Here is a man who prayed for success in the work he was on and God granted him success by showing the right girl for his master's son. Yes, there is a God who is interested in our success and in our prosperity. God does not want you to be a failure but He wants you to be successful. That is the reason why God time and time again gave the formula of success in the Bible. God spoke to Joshua in Joshua 1:8 and said, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
In the Book of Deuteronomy also God spoke to the Israelites and said, if they followed Him diligently they will have blessings, success and prosperity but if they failed to follow Him all the success would be gone. In the whole Bible we see the same principle. Following God is the key to prosperity and success. Jesus spoke the same principle in Mat 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Even today, no matter how many years have rolled away the same principle of success and prosperity is in place. Instead of running after wealth, fame etc, if we seek God, all these things will run after us.
