Once I was in a Muslim debate forum. One Muslim person was arguing and arguing about his great religion. Finally I asked him, "What is the purpose of all those great religious rites and rituals? Is it not that you do it thinking that somehow you can get into heaven?" He said "yes, we all strive to achieve heaven and nobody wants to go to hell." It is true that we all want to go to heaven but is it possible to go to heaven by our righteous deeds? Bible says in, Isaiah 64:6, "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."
Our righteousness is nothing before God and nothing better than filthy rags. So what should we do, how could we get rid of our sins? Bible tells us that when Adam and Eve sinned against God, they died spiritually and were separated from God. They were ashamed because they became aware of their nakedness. But we see another side of the story when God made dresses for them by killing an animal and shedding blood to hide their shame. This was the first atonement for the first human beings who were fallen in sin.
That story continued and we read regarding the provision of atonement offered by God in every book of the Bible. Abraham, Moses and every one of those in the Old Testament received their atonement by sacrificing blameless lamb or animal. But it was not a permanent solution for getting rid of our sins. So God sent His only Son to die for us in order to forgive our sins and to give us eternal life. In the New Testament we see that Jesus came in this world. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross to take away our shame and guilt, to take away our sins and to give us eternal life.
How Jesus' blood was different from the blood of animals that were sacrificed? Jesus being God and being born to a virgin, His blameless blood was preserved from the corruption of sin. His blood has power to cleanse us completely clean.
It is true that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It is also true that we are heading toward hell fire. But I have good news for you that our sins can be forgiven and we can escape from the judgment of God by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We can have eternal life because of Jesus' shed blood.
The bottom line is that the provision of forgiveness of sin that we find in the old as well as the new testament of the Bible, we do not see this provision in any of the other scriptures of the different religions. There are many great books, many great religions, many who try to live a righteous life and hope for heaven but the provision for atonement is through Jesus alone. Bible says in Act 4:12, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Yes, there is no other way to go to heaven but through Jesus alone. If you come to Jesus, He is ready to forgive and forget all your sins and He will give you eternal life.
Prosperity - God's Perfect Will - Part 15

I would like to once again take the little David's life and tell you how God blessed his life when he acknowledged God as his everything. Even David says in Psalm 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."
I know that some people have very hard time to think that goodness and mercy will follow in the life of a holy man. But here David says that, "goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life...". Not one or two days but ALL the days of his life.
David relates God as Shepherd in the very famous Psalm of the Bible Psalm 23. Being himself a shepherd he knew what it is to be like a shepherd and what it is to be like giving care to a herd of sheep.
Little David understood by his own experience of shepherding that a shepherd is a provider, a leader who leads the sheep to a place where everything which sheep needs is in plenty. He is a restorer of soul. He is comforter. He is protector and exalter and He fills with goodness and mercy as we read in Psalm 23:1-6, "THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."
David tells us that because God is his shepherd, he shall not want. Many who preach poverty does not understand who God really is. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are a child of the Most High God. If God is your shepherd then He is your provider and you shall not want. I grew up in a wealthy home and I don't remember as if my parents ever told us siblings and me to live in poverty or beg for food, clothing or shelter. But without our asking, they provided us with everything we needed, best education, best food and best clothing. If you are a child of God, you are automatically eligible to get His provision and He Himself worries for you and He knows what you need and when.
David himself experienced God's provision in his life everyday. When he was in the wilderness, when he was running for his life, when his son tried to overthrew his kingdom, when he went through horrible trials every time, he could see God providing for him and he did not lack anything in those days also.
Not only that, God gave full protection to David in such a way that even a king and his whole army could not catch him though he was having just a handful of men with him. Yes, God can give protection better than any security system.
There is a good God and He cares for His children more than an earthly father could care for his children. He is very much interested in the prosperity and blessing of His children. But the question is, are you a child of God? Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? If not, you can accept Him by praying this simple prayer: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive and forget all my sins. Today I invite you in my life as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my life, wash me with your precious blood and give me authority to become your child. Thank you Jesus for accepting me as your child. I give you all the glory. In the mighty and unfailing name of Jesus I pray this prayer, Amen.
