Sometimes people take things very lightly and speak against the servants of God whatever comes in their mind. But Bible tells us that God spoke to Abraham and said in Gen 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Throughout the Bible we read about those who had cursed or done any thing wrong against the children of God have come into trouble and had to go through the same curses in their own lives.
Goliath challenged the whole army of Israel. But young David accepted his challenge. When he faced Goliath he heard bad things and words of curse from him as we read in 1Samuel 17:45, "So the Philistine said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!" Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."
Finally it turned out to be very costly for Goliath. The reason is simple that he spoke against the anointed servant of God. And what he spoke returned to his own head.
1Sa 17:48-51, "So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled."
This was the fate of Goliath in the hands of David who had not even a proper weapon to kill his enemy, who had not been trained for the battle. But he knew the one name that is above all other names and that name is 'Yahweh God' and victory was his.
I remember that one time a religious leader came to our home intending to kill our whole family with his witchcraft powers. He sat and we were involved in conversation. But it seemed as if he was in some other world not involved in our conversations. Finally he left and we discussed about his strange behavior. Next day we were shocked to hear the news of one of his close relative's death. What he intended bad against us returned to his own head.
Yes, my friend, if you are a child of God, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God Himself is your protection. No weapon farmed against you will prosper. We read in Isa 54:17, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD."
God will protect you just as He did to the Israelites when they were in the wilderness. They were among scorpions and among fiery serpents without any protection. When the Egyptian army could have easily destroyed them in a split second God was their protection and none could harm them. The Egyptian army approached the Israelites to destroy them, but God turned it on them and they were drowned in the red sea. Even God turned the intention of Balaam who went to curse the Israelites, but instead he had to bless them.
If this God is your God, you need not to be afraid because He is your protection. He is able to turn your situations around.
Discover Who You Are in Christ

John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
Ever since God lost Adam and Eve and they were no longer God's children, He longed to restore them back and once again have fellowship with them. For this purpose He came in this world and gave His life for the lost humanity, He did the work of our salvation. So if we repent and turn to Him, we can have forgiveness of our sins. With this forgiveness from our sins we get adapted in the family of God and we become children of God.
Let us look at some of the things we receive as our inheritance:
1. Acceptance as children of God:
When we become children of God, we can have everything which heaven has to offer. Back in India there was a mother cat that used to come and eat food from our yard. One day she brought six kittens. They would play in our yard and sleep in one of the flower pots kept in the yard. After about a week we noticed that the mother cat did not come. All the kittens looked very sad and hungry. So we started to feed them. One day it was raining very hard so all the kittens came inside of our home and they became a part of our family.
When they came inside of our home, they enjoyed everything we offered. If they were hungry they would come and rub their heads on our feet to indicate that they wanted something to eat. They used to sit in a particular seat and if someone was sitting there, they would stand and look as if how you could sit in that place which is ours? Whenever a family member returned from long journey, they would get inside the suitcase and inspect everything. They acted as if everything was theirs and it was their right to have those things.
When we are adapted in God's family we also enjoy everything which belongs to God and it is the right of a child of God to have everything what is of God.
2. God is the Provider:
If we are adapted in the family of God, God will provide all the necessary things for us. He is the provider just like our earthly parents provide food, shelter, clothing and everything necessary for our lives. When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, He took care of them and they did not go hungry or thirsty even for a single time. They were in the wilderness where there was no food or water but God made ways for them to get food and water. He even provided heavenly food called Manna from heaven for them.
The question is? Have you been adapted in the family of God? If not, come to Jesus, give your life in the hands of Jesus and become God's child today itself.
