God of the Bible is the God of protection. He protects His children and exalts them before others. In the book of Daniel we read amazing stories of young men not only surviving but thriving under difficult circumstances. The reason why their lives were spared was only because God was with them.
In the 2nd chapter of Daniel, we read that when king Nebuchadnezzar saw a dream his spirit was so troubled that sleep left him. Then the king gave the command to call all the magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to demand that they tell the king his dreams with their interpretation. So they came and stood before the king. Then the king said to them, "I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to know the dream." Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in Aramaic, "O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation." The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, "My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap. However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation." They answered again and said, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will give its interpretation." The king answered and said, "I know for certain that you would gain time, because you see that my decision is firm: "if you do not make known the dream to me, there is only one decree for you! For you have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till the time has changed. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can give me its interpretation."
But The Chaldeans answered the king, and said, "There is not a man on earth who can tell the king's matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean. "It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh." For this reason the king was angry and very furious, and gave the command to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. (Daniel 2:1-12)
So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise men; and they sought Daniel and his companions, to kill them. Here we see a dire situation that if Daniel and his companions failed to tell the dream with its interpretation they would be killed by the hands of king's army. But who will be able to tell the dream that the king had seen? The astrologers, the sorcerers and the chaldeans have already told the king that, there is nobody in this world who could tell his dream. But king was determined to put them to the test.
Now Daniel asked the king to give him some time. Then, he and his companions sought the mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that they might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
There is a God who hears our cry and answers from heaven. His eyes and ears are attentive for those who fear Him. And no evil could ever touch those who walk in the ways of God. Though the king decreed to kill all the wise men yet God saved Daniel and his companions showing them the deep secrets that no one else could have known by any means.
There is another incident recorded in the same book of Daniel which talks about Daniel's companions Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego when they were in deep trouble. The king had made a big image in gold and told the whole nation to bow down before it and decreed that otherwise they would be thrown into burning fiery furnace. But these three young men refused to do so. The result was that all the three of them were thrown inside a fiery furnace. But to the surprise of all including the king, they saw the three of them walking in the midst of the fire along with a fourth one who was also walking with them. Dan 3:24-25 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
Yes, there is a God who will come down and walk with you when you go through burning fiery furnace and the fire cannot hurt you at all. When you go through deep waters, God will be with you and it cannot drown you. He will be your protection if you have given your life in the mighty hands of Jesus.
Discover Who You Are in Christ - Part 2

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become a child of God according to John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
If you are a child of God, you are entitled to inherit whatever is of God. Let us look at some of the things that we inherit after our adoption within the family of God: 1. The nature of God: The very first thing that happens when we accept Jesus is that we receive a new life. We read in 2nd Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
All the sins that you have committed would be washed off by the precious blood of Jesus as soon as you accept Him. And everything starts to change, our life and lifestyle, our friends, our nature. We will no longer desire to live in those old sins, but a strong desire comes to live a holy life pleasing God. As we walk with Him, as we spend time with Him in prayer and reading His word, we inherit His nature. Just as children learn to talk, walk and do things and grows up trying to copy their parents. At times they look alike, their behavior and voice appear similar because they pick up their parents style.
The same thing happens when we spend much time with God, we pick up His nature in us.
We read in 1Peter 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible undefiled that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, Yes, God has given us this new life to inherit incorruptible undefiled life which will never fade away.
2. Prosperity: Psalmist says in Psa 25:12-13, "Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the earth."
Isa 45:3, "I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel."
Isa 61:6, "But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast."
All these verses talk about worldly riches which God wants to give us. Many believe that God is not interested in our prosperity but that's not true. If you are born in the family of a king, he will never allow you to stay naked, begging for bread and sleeping in the streets. But a child born to a king would live in luxury and would act like the king himself.
Same thing is with those who are born in the family of God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Everything in this world belongs to God. Diamond and Gold mines are His. He has created everything and is it a difficult thing for Him to give you some of it? Absolutely not! In fact God gives prosperity to those who walk in His ways. Throughout the Bible we read that God prospered those who walked in the ways of God. They became rich people on the face of the earth.
Abraham and Isaac were strangers in the land of Canaan but they prospered so much that the land was not able to accommodate them. David was just a shepherd boy but God raised him to become a king. Hezekiah was greatly prospered because he loved the Lord.
My friend, this is what happens to a child of God who really walks in the ways of God. If we fear God and walk in His holy ways, He will not withhold any good thing from us.
