Psa 91:4, "He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
From the above verse you can see how God promised His mighty protection to those who take refuge under His wings. Here it is represented as how the chicks take refuge under the wings of the mother bird. As long as these chicks stay outside, their lives are in danger as the preying eyes of an eagle or of any other big bird could catch them. But if they are under the wings of the mother bird, they are safe and they do not need to worry about anything. No harm could come for them.
God gave us the same promise that He will protect us from the preying eyes of the devil so that we may not become his lunch.
1Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Devil wants to destroy our lives, but God wants to protect us and bless us. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly."
What a privilege it is to be a child of God! He is the mighty protector and deliverer. In Psalms 91:4 we read, "He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
In other words, at times of danger, God Himself will take you under His wings and shall cover you with His feathers. And His truth shall be our shield and buckler. Shield and buckler protect the front of the body particularly chest that the enemy could not thrust their sword into the heart. And God promised to protect us with His Truth shielding our heart and mind so that we may not drift away deluded by the lies of the devil.
My friend, are you a child of God? His protection is available for you for every area of your life whether it is physical, spiritual or mental. How many times do we give up thinking that all our hopes are shattered. How many times do we feel discouraged and helpless! But if we trust the Lord, He is ready to bring deliverance in our lives.
If you are not yet a child of God, it is not difficult to become one. Come to Jesus and give your life to Jesus. Repent for your sins and invite Him in your life. He has promised to become our Father when we accept Him. (John 1:12-13), "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
The day you become a child of God and enter within the royal family of God, He will take care of you, He will protect you,
and He will help you in every walk of your life.
Overcoming Fear

In the Bible we read about a righteous person named Job. He loved the Lord and walked in the ways of God. He lived in righteousness. God rewarded him with much wealth and blessed him. He was so rich that he even washed his feet with cream.
But one day all his wealth, all his livestock, all his camels and horses, all his ten children, his house and even his health all were destroyed. He was in great pain and sorrow. His wife told him, "do you still trust God? Curse him and die...". The trust of his wife was also gone. He lost everything and he was in such pain that when his three friends saw him they could not speak a word except to weep.
But in Job 3:25 Job confesses his weakness of being afraid as we read, "For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me."
Fear! It comes from nowhere else but from the devil himself. Fear would cause you to lose your battles. The first thing what the devil does to you is to bring fear in your heart so that slowly he could take power over your life. At times we just give up while we could have fought and won those battles.
I remember that, in my school days when I played badminton it always went well till I was winning. But on occasions as soon as my opponent start winning, I felt so nervous in my mind that I just gave up thinking, "every thing is over." But later on I realized that it was just the game of mind and that if I had just fought back, I could have won the game.
Bible tells us in Jam 4:7, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James says that just don't give up when devil gives you hard times but submitting yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Eph 6:11-12, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
In other words, we need to be equipped to defeat saten wearing the whole armor of God. And always remember that God is there to help us in our battles. Who can be able to defeat Him? Let not fear rule your life, but let the mighty power of God rule in your lives and give you victory.
