A few days back I saw an amazing story in TV news. There was a couple traveling by car at night. They stopped to relax and to fill their gas tank. They played with their infant daughter and put her back in the car. And as they were standing outside of their car and talking, a man approached the car. He got inside and tried to flee with the car. Both husband and wife did not know what to do now? They thought that they may never be able to see their daughter again.
But the mother took a giant step and somehow was able to broke the window glass with her elbow and hold on to the window and was being dragged with the car. When her husband saw this, he also jumped and managed to enter inside the car. The intruder fled away leaving the car without harming them.
When I saw this on TV, I was completely amazed and thought how much risk they had taken for their daughter. They even put their lives on harms way and without thinking of the consequence they did whatever they could to save their daughter. This is the love of a mother and a father!
Bible tells us in Galatians 1:4, "who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,"
1Timothy 2:6, "who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
Jesus did the same thing for us. He gave His life to save us from our sins and from eternal damnation. When He saw that the devil had snatched us from Him, He put His own life to rescue us. He came in this world taking the form of a man, lived among us, walked among us and went to the cross and gave His precious life for saving us from hell fire.
Today we are headed towards hell fire because of our sins and because we are separated from God. But there is hope for the dying humanity because of the sacrifice of Jesus that we can get forgiveness of our sins. Bible tells us that we are spiritually dead because of sin but Jesus came to give us life - a life that would never fade away.
This eternal life is available for you and me if we invite Jesus as our Lord and Savior and get forgiveness of our sins as we read in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
The moment you invite Jesus in your life, you become a child of God and all your sins are forgiven by the precious blood of Jesus. A new life starts with it. Bible says in 2Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
This wonderful life is yours, if you just come to Jesus.
Discover Who You Are in Christ - Part 5

Last week we saw how God had provided us with the weapons of warfare with which we could succeed in every area of our lives.
When Jesus was about to leave this world He said to His disciples in Act 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
In the book of Acts we read how the lives of disciples were transformed when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Those ordinary disciples went around and preached the Gospel with might and power. Unusual and awesome miracles happened through them. Many were healed even those who were born lame and different types of sicknesses, many were raised from the dead. Even the shadow of peter healed people.
"And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch. Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed"(Act 5:12-16).
Bible also says in Act 19:11-12, "Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them."
You can see that God did mighty miracles in the lives of people through Holy Spirit. And these unusual miracles happen even today if a person is filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in Mark 16:16-18, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
A few days back I was reading the real story of Pastor Jagpal Dhaliwal which I am pasting here:
"One day our Doctor told us that my dad who was 'Retired Major officer from Indian Army', has only two more weeks to live. I was born in a Sikh family and I was Science Student, and one of my friends from the University convinced me to take my dad to those Preachers, 'who pray for the sick'.
Cutting the story short. My Dad got Miraculously Healed. That was 20 years ago. By God's grace he is still alive and doing great, and that night I couldn't sleep because my mind could not comprehend what happened. As a science student, always I wanted to understand everything. And my heart started to cry for 'God of universe' and then one night something happened, I got visited.
And one day I found a unique and very challenging scripture in Mark 16:17 which says "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons... ...they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” I was told that every true believer of Jesus Christ can experience the manifestation of these signs; I wanted to see if it is really true or just a nice story.
But first I wanted to make sure that I am a Genuine Believer, I did my best and started living according to the Bible. I had a plan in my mind, after six months on one Sunday I took some other believers with me and went to the Hospital, just to find anyone who is dying. I found this man who had a tumor in the middle of his brain, no surgery, no hope no cure. Cutting the story short, that man got healed and the tumor disappeared; when the wife brought all the old and new Cat Scans on Saturday; I almost fainted got shocked with that surprise. I was not worthy of that; Praise God.
I didn't know that was the Beginning of something Glorious. In these 20 years many, many and many got healed, delivered and blessed by the Power of Christ; Praise the Lord. Jesus Christ is Alive; Jesus Christ killed his own death and destroyed the power of Death. So now HE is "The Truth" and not the Death."
Yes, there is a God who wants to fill us with Holy Spirit and wants to walk in miracles everyday. When Jesus faced problems, He did not panic but He stood with boldness and just commanded those situations and those situations turned around. By His one command, He calmed the raging sea. By His one command, He cast out legion of demons. Legions were the major unit of the Roman army consisting of 3,000 to 6,000 infantry troops. It means that Jesus cast out 3,000 to 6,000 demons by His one command. Not only that but by His one command, dead people walked alive. By His one command, sicknesses fled from the lives of people. And Jesus promised this power to His disciples when He was leaving this world. Today if we ask Him to fill us with Holy Spirit, He will gladly do it.
