Isaiah prophesied and spoke about the coming Messiah saying His name would be Prince of Peace. And further he says, "Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end," we read it in Isaiah 9:6-7, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

When this world is in turmoil when your surroundings are so restless, full of troubles, how could you leave in peace? If you take the news paper, if you turn on TV, you will find news that would disturb your heart. At times things happen in our own lives which drives away our peace and even our sleep away from us. We feel hopeless and helpless in those moments. But the Bible tells us about a God who is more than our circumstances and He is more than our surroundings. He is able to fill our hearts with great peace, no matter what the hell may break lose. His name is Jesus. He said in Phil 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

During my childhood days I had often felt afraid to remain alone at home. When my parents had to go somewhere and when they left us alone, I never felt comfortable. But if my elder sister was with us then I did not feel fear in my heart and slept peacefully in nights.

I read about a bird that makes her nest in the rocks and keeps her baby birds in that nest, when the storm comes, when thundering clouds and heavy rain comes, when their surroundings have no peaceful situations, yet the little ones would sleep in their nest peacefully because their nest that is in the rock will have no effect of the surroundings.

In the same way when Jesus comes to live with us, He fills our hearts with great peace and no matter what could be happening in our surroundings yet we can sleep peacefully, if we have chosen our nest to be built in the living rock, that is - Jesus Himself, we need not to be afraid of our circumstances, our surroundings, but we can leave everything in His hands and sleep peacefully.

We can get this divine peace by inviting Jesus in our hearts. In this Christmas season, invite Jesus in your hearts and you will never be alone again. Before Jesus was born an angel came to Joseph and said in Mat 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

This almighty God wants to come and live with us and when He comes in our lives, He takes away all our worries and gives peace that passes all understanding. Have you invited Jesus in your life? If not, let not this Christmas season pass from you. Come to Jesus, repent from your sins and invite Jesus in your lives. I am sure, when you do this, your life will never be the same again but the almighty God Himself will come and dwell in you and with you.

Good Tidings of Great Joy

By Sherly Isaac

Luke 2:10-11, "Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

What is this message of good tidings of great joy which the angel brought to the shepherds? I grew up in North India and both of our grand parents, cousins and relatives lived in South India. Once in two three years we would go for vacation and meet all our relatives and I remember how joyous those occasions were to see them, meet them and share our lives with them. Often it was months of preparations and great excitement.

I have seen on TV where many who had lost their brother or sister or close relatives but after many years they found them and got reunited with them. They tell their stories with great joy and with tears of joy how they lost hope of ever meeting them but how they met and what a great joy and celebration it was for them.

Many years ago Bible tells us that Adam and Eve the first parents sinned and because of that they lost union with God. Their relationship with God ended then and there. The separation between God and man was painful and since then man is lost in his sins. But God was looking for ways to reunite us to Himself. And that moment of good tidings came in the form of Jesus when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. The very purpose of His coming in this world was to save those who are lost in sin and to reunite us with the Father God. And Jesus came in this world, He lived among us, He walked among us as one of us and went through all the pain, sufferings that we human beings had to go through and He was triumphant even to beat death. He rose again on the third day and by His precious blood shed on the cruel cross He made a bridge between us and God so that we must not live in sin and we must not end up in hell fire but should enter in heaven.

Today, because of His sacrifice we can achieve salvation of our souls. This is the good news proclaimed by the angels of heaven when Jesus was born. This will be the greatest joy in fact unending joy and celebration when we are re-united with God, when our sins are forgiven and when we meet God. There is no joy greater than this. That is the reason why the angels proclaimed, "I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

This joy is available for you and me. We can have this joy in our lives, in our families, in our communities and in this world. God wants to re-unite us with Himself, if we just come to Him and invite Him in our lives, He is ready to forgive and forget all our sins and take us in as His own children. Do you want this great joy in your life, today? Do you want this great celebration in your life, today? If yes then please pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive and forget all my sins and wash me with your precious blood. Please come into my life and make me a new person and give me the joy unspeakable which this world cannot give. Fill me Lord with your great peace and joy in my heart. Thank you Jesus for taking birth in my heart today and thank you for giving me eternal life. I give you all the glory and I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
