Bible tells us how people fell in sin and Bible tells us about the ups and downs of people, their sins, their victories, their overcoming in their life. Bible also tells us of the consequences when people fall in sin. From every story of the Bible we can learn some lesson so that we may not fall in those sins. David fell in sin. How did he fall in sin? He saw a woman and lusted after her. Because of his sin, he went through much trouble. It cost him almost his kingdom, his kingship, his life and he had to run for his life. You can see how terrible the after effect of that sin was? Sin brought him to his knees and it can do the same thing to you also. Bible tells us in 1 John 2:16, "For all that is in the world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life; is not of the Father but is of the world."

In Galatians 5:16-17, "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish."

When Jesus was about to leave this world, He promised to send His Holy Spirit who will guide those who put their trust in Him. Today, Holy Spirit is ready to guide us, lead us and help us to walk a holy and upright life. Without the help of Holy Spirit it is impossible to live a holy life. People try many things to get rid of their bad habits but they end up in the same place from where they started. That's why Jesus told His disciples in John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."

To receive the Holy Spirit, first it is necessary to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He forgives and forgets all our sins and gives us a new life. Not only that but God gives us the right to become His children as we read in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

And to keep this new life in accordance to the will of God, we need Holy Spirit. In Acts 2nd chapter we read how Jesus' disciples received the Holy Spirit. Many people think that now we cannot receive Holy Spirit and some believe that we receive the Holy Spirit at the same time when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. But Bible very clearly tells us that the receiving of Holy Spirit and the receiving of salvation are two separate experiences. Eph 1:13-14, "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory."

If you are not saved, you can invite Jesus in your life today by repenting of your sins. And if you are saved but not filled with the Holy Spirit, you can ask Jesus to send Holy Spirit in you and He will gladly do it.

Dreams and Visions are given to a believer for many reasons. These are the methods by which God conveys His message to His children. Today we are going to see some of the reasons and benefits of visions and dreams.

1. For Comfort
2. For Guidance
3. For Protection

1. For Comfort:
John 14:16, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17, "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:18, "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

God brings dreams and visions to bring comfort in our lives. This happens with the help of Holy Spirit "the comforter". Bible says that Holy Spirit abides with us forever and He brings that comfort in our life.

I remember an incidence which happened in my life long back. My dad got visa and he came to USA. Then after three years my mom also came. We three (my brother, sister and I) were left in India. We had no other choice except to join our parents. We waited for our turn to come to USA patiently. As days and months passed by some times I felt very anxious and said to my siblings, "don't know how long we have to wait like this". As years went by one day out of the blue two bad thoughts came into my mind.

a). What if before you get visa one of your parents die and you will never see them again.
b). What if your brother and sister gets visa and they leave but you are left out all alone

These thoughts sure created a bad panic inside me. I tried to push away these thoughts but they became frequent visitors. I didn't tell my siblings about it and there were times when these thoughts became a real torment. Months had passed by and I was not able to get rid of it. There were times when I prayed and begged before Jesus, "Please don't leave me alone, I am not ready to live with other people." That's how torment comes and satan brings us in the place of restlessness. Months have passed by and whenever these thoughts came it really brought some kind of anxiety.

Then one day my sister shared a vision which she saw. In her vision she saw a shelf and 2 big custard apples were sitting there. Then she saw somebody brought 3 smaller custard apples and kept them with the 2 bigger ones. The vision was so clear that nobody needed to explain the meaning of it. When I heard this vision the anxiety left right away and the torment of months vanished in one split second. I knew without any doubt that Lord had answered both of my questions through this vision. A great faith arose in my heart knowing what God has planned for me and my family. Whenever again the same thoughts came in my mind I had an answer (vision) to counter it and to destroy the thoughts brought by satan. Satan could never bring torment in my heart again. There was great peace in my heart. After a year or so this vision came to pass exactly the same way. Jesus helped us three to travel together to USA and meet our parents.

God shows visions and dreams to bring comfort in our heart. If you are a child of God and are filled with Holy Spirit this privilege is yours too. You don't need to be a prophet or a minister of the Gospel but gifts of the Holy Spirit is available for each and every believer who loves Jesus.

If you are not filled with Holy Spirit you need to ask from Jesus and get this wonderful gift. Jesus wants to give you this wonderful gift of Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit comes and lives inside of you and He becomes your comforter, protector and guide.

Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

2. For Guidance

John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."
