Genesis 17:1-2, 'When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless." And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly."'
Here we read something that God did not like about Abraham and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless." What was Abraham's mistake that blemished him? When we read Genesis 15th chapter onwards we see about the frustration that Abraham and Sarah went through because they had no kids.
Gen 15:1-5, "After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward." But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?" Then Abram said, "Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!" And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir." Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."
Abraham got this big promise from God but still for many years he did not have any kids. And as their age advanced they lost their hopes and it seemed to them that it is completely impossible for them to have a kid. So Sarah, Abraham's wife got an idea and she gave her maid Hagar to Abraham. But it was Sarah's biggest mistake. Not only it created trouble for her but also took away her peace from her life.
Sometimes people get tiered when things do not come to pass as they expect and they come up with their own plan to make God's promises to work. But those ideas and those ways would finally prove to be disastrous. That's why God told Abraham, "walk before Me and be blameless."
Today also God wants us to be blameless. God wants us to walk in His ways with no blemish. The promises that God gave to Abraham came to pass later on no matter how hard he tried to make it happen. But it happened when the time came. Yes, there is a time for everything and if God promises something we need to patiently wait until that promise come to pass.
Before that we need to get forgiveness of our sins so that we could be able to walk in the ways of God. Jesus came in this world and died on the cruel cross so that our sins could be forgiven. If you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, He is ready to forgive your sins and ready to give you a new life.

God gives visions, dreams and supernatural experiences to His children. When God gave the promise of inheritance of that land of Canaan to Abraham then he asked God, "how shall I know that I will inherit it?" And at that time God told him to bring a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon for sacrifice. So Abraham brought all those things and something supernatural happened that day. In Genesis 15:17-21 we read, "And it came to pass, when the sun went down and it was dark, that behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a burning torch that passed between those pieces. On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates; the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites."
Thus God showed him how he and his descendents would inherit the land. And later Moses led the Israelites who were the descendents of Abraham who were to inherit the land of Canaan.
I remember when I was in India waiting to come to USA. (My parents were here in USA), at times it was very hard. When you get sick you have to take care of yourself. Not only that, at nights I would wake up thinking, would I be able to see my parents again? Then one night I saw a dream. In my dream I saw three men wearing shining white clothes walking towards me. And they said only one sentence and it brought so much peace in my heart that I cannot explain. They said, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" I woke up and I realized that it was a dream but I knew and I knew for sure that, God will take me to USA very soon. After seeing this dream within a year we moved to USA.
If we walk in the ways of God, He will show us the things to come and He will send comfort in the midst of chaos and confusion. The bottom line is that if you are a child of God, God Himself will take care of you, whatever may be the situations you are in and He Himself will bring peace in your heart.
What a wonderful thing it is to walk with God and know Him personally!
