A few days back I posted one message about Earthquake in message boards which I believe was because of God’s judgment. People reacted and said, “we always thought you are a kind-hearted person and we never expected this type of heartless message from you.” I said, this is not a heartless message but is reality. A few days back I was talking to a Jewish man about hell. He said, “I do not believe there is a hell because God is so loving, He will simply ignore or delete those who will do wrong.” I was shocked hearing his statement. I said, “if it is true then why we should obey God and why try to get forgiveness of God or why try to live a holy life?”
Yes, some people think that God is very loving and so whatever wrong they do, He will ignore it and will not punish. But, is this a true thinking? Yes, it is true that God is very loving and caring but at the same time He is a just God. He can not tolerate sin. We see from Genesis to Revelation that God punished those who sinned against Him. At Noah’s time there were people who sinned against God and did not walk in His holy ways. Only Noah was a righteous man in the sight of God. So God sent flood and destroyed the whole world but saved Noah and his family.
When we look into the life of David we see that he killed Uriah without any reason just to take his wife. But God’s wrath came upon him as we read in 2 Sam 12:10-11, 'Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.' "Thus says the LORD: 'Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.”
Yes, my friend, it is a terrible thing to stand against Almighty God or to shed innocent blood. What happened in Gujarat, India was that they shed innocent blood. They killed the Christians and Missionaries for no reason. And sudden destruction came upon them. f we are still not going to walk in His ways these things are going to repeat. If still we are not going to humble ourselves and repent from our sins, these things are going to repeat. If we want healing in our land we must humble ourselves and repent from our sins, otherwise our prayers are not going to reach heaven. We read in 2 Chr 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
I got few mails that say how miraculously God saved Christians in Gujarat. I am glad to publish those letters here.
Miraculous escape from deadly earthquake
I am fine here and except cracks in buildings nothing has happened here. God protected this city. Just want to share that on 25th night I had a dream about earthquake hitting this state and I saw myself saved. And to my surprise the next morning the earthquake came and our hotel bldg was shaking. I came out running from 4th floor ..and then I realized what God had showed in my dream....!Just as God revealed to Daniel the dream of the king of Babylon.... God did with me...

Dear Brother/Sister, Greetings,
It was the Grace of God and the prayers of the saints which saved the Sindhi Team of 3 persons including myself from the Killer earthquake which rocked the Kutch Province of Gujarat. We were in Ghandhidham which is 10 kms from Kandla Port (biggest sea Port of India) and 40 kms from Bhuj (the city which is 90% destroyed by the earth quake). Ghandhidham too was worst affected by earthquake. All the 3 storied buildings and above were destroyed. Buildings came down with the rattling sounds killings most the residents without giving chance of escape.
We too, were in a 5 storied Hotel Maruti. At 8.45 a.m we had finished our breakfast and were about to leave our rooms to go upstairs, where Kutchi Consultation was about to be started at 9.00 a.m at 3rd floor of same hotel, in which nearly 25 Christian representative from all parts of India were participating (including our team). We heard the horrible sounds coming from Ground floor I thought they have started a generator. Before we could understand anything, the building started shaking violently, like a swing, with horrible sounds, making impossible even to move a step in any direction.
I was thrown to the door 6 fts. away. The side wall of Ground floor came in piercing through the slab of 1st floor, lifted my bed upside down, Steel Almirah went upside down, Air con & stabilizer were thrown inside of the room and within no time the room was full of sand, dust and smoke.
I could not see anything around and I felt as if some one had thrown a lorry full of sand upon my head. Before, I could understand anything or think of escape, the whole building sank downward and I could only understand that the building has collapsed and I must escape.
I tried my best to open the door but all in vein. I cried out to the Lord with a slim voice - Lord Jesus save us, Lord Jesus Save me. I was suffocating, could not see anything around because of thick cloud of dust. I felt, if I stay 30 seconds more, I will suffocate to death. Now I decided to break the windowpanes and jump from 1st floor. As I turned back, I fell down because the cot was upside down and it came across my way. Like a blind man I crossed over the bed and again the almirah came across, some how I made my way to window and thank God that the glasses had already broken, I had to break the aluminum frames and jump outside.
When I came out, I was full of dust and sand. Water was coming from my eyes. Ear and nose were full of dust & I was coughing for more than 45 minutes unable to breath properly. I noticed that Ground floor shops, restaurant and kitchen of the Hotel had been completely destroyed and 3 floors had come upon it, making 1st floor the ground one.
But 25 of us Christians, who were on 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor, were safe, though the walls & roofs of these floors had broken. The structure of these floors did not collapse. We believe, Angels of God came and up holded these floors and even saved the staff of the
Hotel. Only two staff members could not come out and still their bodies are inside the debris. In the hotel next to us, nearly 20 people died. Nearly 5000 people have died alone in Gandhidham city and in the whole of Gujarat more than 100 thousand people have died.
We went around the city after the earth quake and saw nearly hundred bodies trapped in the debris of buildings.
Telecom center, Electric supply building, Hospitals, TV & Radio Station, have been destroyed partially or fully including only Bridge connecting Ghandhidham to Ahamadabd.
The Pastor who had invited the Team had no option but to cancel the program. Some how we got back to our home city Nagpur this morning at 7.30 a.m after nearly 40 hours of long journey changing buses & trains. We lost most of our belonging and even had to borrow sleepers to wear, sweater (warm cloths) and bed sheets to keep us warm on the way. We changed cloths, shaved and had bath after nearly 72 hours when we reached our home.
God took us to Gujarat, all the way from Nagpur to make us the eye witness of the Killer Earthquake to show us what a man is and to prove that His saving hand was around us.
Bible says " What a righteous would do, if the foundations are shaken". We could do nothing to save ourselves but God sent His angels to cover us under their wings and save us from the cruel hand of Death.

Triumphant two years
I am glad to say that CSI News Letter has finished its full 2 years on the net. This newsletter started with a very small list of CSI members but it is growing bigger and bigger every day. When I look back and see what God has done, my heart is full of praise for His greatness and mercy. No words can ever express the mighty deeds of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A few years back who ever thought that we can sit in our home and reach the whole world? But technology has enabled us to reach fast and within seconds to others no matter how far we are. In these last two years God has blessed this Newsletter and made it a big success. Wow, you have already read more than 100 issues of this Newsletter. Thank you for all your encouraging emails and suggestions. Some times it is not easy to reply every mail but our tearful prayers are with you. I have a suggestion. Most of the dioceses of CSI have a monthly magazine and it may be nice to give the news about the web site in the diocesan magazines. I came to know about the site through a missionary from England whom I met during my tenure as a visiting fellow at UK.
