Last week we heard about the massacre with in the Nepal royal family. It shook the whole country and the world. No one knows for real what happened or who did this in that night during the royal feast. But it is the fact that the whole family of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah is dead including Queen Aishwarya Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah their two sons and one daughter Prince Nirajan Bir Bikram Shah, Princess Sruti Rajya Laxmi Devi Rana and other family members. Even a few moments before this incidence they could never have anticipated that this is going to be the final moments of their lives. Even the King of Nepal who is suppose to be the incarnation of Vishnu (Hindu god) according to their belief did not know before hand that what was going to happen to him.

How short our lives are in this world. Those who were yesterday are not here today and those who are today may will not be here tomorrow. But does this life end with our physical death? According to Hindu belief when a person dies he/she takes another form like that of an animal, bird or a higher cast Hindu. This cycle goes on till 84,000 births and those who took birth in a Brahmin family and did good works will enter into heaven others will go through this cycle.. According to Islamic faith when a person dies he/she is just like a vegetable and they will be raised on the Day of Judgment for final judgment and out of them some will be allowed to go to heaven and others not!

But is it reality? How can our past life be washed away with our good works? Suppose a person did murder someone and later on started doing good works but his past sin is not yet forgiven. So no matter what good he does, he will always live in guilt and feel worried about his past committed sin which is not yet forgiven. So I do not think that our good works can earn forgiveness or salvation for us. But we need a Savior who can forgive our earlier sins. A person who is already sinking in sin along with us cannot help us but only God who is holy can save us. That is the reason why Jesus came down in this world to save us from our sins. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that we may never be in sin but live in peace forever. And the Bible says in 1 John 1:7, "...and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." No matter what your sins are if you want to get rid of your sins there is only one way i.e. Jesus.

In contrast to the question of taking birth in different forms or being a vegetable after death, the Bible teaches us that as soon as a person dies, he/she goes either to heaven or to hell. Bible tells us that we all are sinners and we need forgiveness of our sins before we die. Those whose sins are forgiven will go to heaven while others will go to hell as the Bible tells us in Psalms 9:17, "The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God. And Jesus said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

Few days back I read the article of one person that "There is no burning hell fire" in his web page. He wrote in this article something like this,

"Most people are well aware of the conventional Christian doctrine of HELL. Every Sunday morning from pulpits all over the world church members are taught that the good go to a place called Heaven when they die, while the wicked are sent to a place called Hell, a place where they will be roasted alive forever and ever. People in Hell include children, little old ladies, and anyone else that does not become a Christian. Have you ever asked yourself the question, is this not out of harmony with the concept that God is love? How could a God who loved us so much that he would allow his own beloved son to be crucified on our behalf, torture people in such a barbaric way? To many this doctrine is so unthinkable that it makes them discount the Holy Bible as a divine revelation. The concept of eternal torture has probably created more atheists than any other religious doctrine.

There is good news for those who are perplexed over this seeming contradiction in God's character. The doctrine of hell as presented in most Christian churches is another of many gross errors invented by the Papacy in the dark ages."

No it is not good news to say that there is no Hell or that there is no danger ahead. It is just like knowing that we are heading towards a big ditch, close our eyes and say, "oh its not there! But the good news is yes, there is a burning hell but God came down in the form of a man to save us from this hell fire. That is the love of God. This is not love that seeing us going into hell fire God should keep quite and do nothing but this is love that He came down for our rescue. Let me give one example. Suppose that you are sitting on a chair and reading newspaper and your son is playing nearby. Suddenly you hear the scream of your son for rescue because he fell in fire. Do you think that you will sit quietly and say, "O, son, come out of that fire by yourself, work hard, try again..?" No, but I am sure that the moment you will hear the scream, you will jump from your seat and try to rescue him as soon as possible. The same thing God did on the cruel cross. When He saw that we are unable to come out of our sins by ourselves He sent His only Son to die for us so that we may be rescued from hell fire. Yes, it is the love of God that He died on behalf of us. Because of sin we deserve death but I have good news to tell you that we can escape Hell fire by the shed blood of Jesus and have eternal life.

Allah and Elohim - Are they same God? part 14

By Sherly Isaac

His Word is Eternal:

Bible tells us that Jesus is the Word of God John 1:1-2-4, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." And the Bible also tells us in John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

So we can see that "Word" is precisely called God and the same "Word of God" who was with God and was God came down in the form of a man to save us from our sins and from hell fire. Old Testament also confirms this idea as we read in Psalms 33:6, "By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth."

And no one can make heaven and earth and the whole universe but it is the quality of God that He can make heaven, earth and the universe and that is the reason why Jesus is called God in the Bible.

But when we come to Quran we see that though Jesus is called "His Word" in Quran Sura 4:171, but not considered as God.

Read sura 4:171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

First part of Sura 4:171 says that Jesus is word of God (His Word) and "a spirit proceeding from Him…"
I was talking to a Muslim a few days back and he said like this about this Sura:

"Basic principle of Quranic exegesis is Quran itself so we have to look at some of other passages in Quran, what does it mean by “word of God” or word “proceeding from God”. The explanation of this could be found in Quran chapter 3 and verse 59:

“The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.”

Here it means only one thing that God used his word to create Jesus (pbuh), similar to the creation of Adam (pbuh), it cannot be used to denote divinity, if so, then Adam is a better candidate for such designations. "

And as explained before: Jesus is the Word of Allah (that was given to Mary), and from that Word (Be!), Jesus was created, because He (Jesus) has no human father.

This was my reply: What if Jesus is the same Word (Be!)? I see another contradiction here in the Quranic verse! How? Jesus is the Word of God so whatever God says it is Jesus including "Be"? And the above Sura says that Jesus was created by word "Be". Word of God "Be" is already there so why it was needed to create "Be" again? Don't you see a contradiction here? How God will create His own Word? From the day God exist in this world, His Word also exist so His Word is eternal and no one can create Him or His Word. If His Word (Jesus) is eternal then He is God Himself.

And Jesus Himself also claimed that He is the same God of Old Testament but Quran simply denies that Jesus is God.

Jesus said in Mat 12:8, "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." Again He says in John 10:30 "I and My Father are one." Again He says in Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

But when we come to Quran it says in,
Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread)

Sura 5:116 And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah.?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.

If Allah is the same God of the Bible then how come he does not know that Jesus is the God of the Old Testament or Yahweh God? How come it is hidden from Allah? It makes it clear that Allah is not the Yahweh God and does not know what happened in the beginning or what Jesus actually said when He was in this world.

His Word does not change:

The Bible says in Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever."

Not only this verse shows the immutability of God's Word but there are several verses which says that His Word is unchangeable. Jesus Himself said in Mat 5:18, "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."

Yes, this much importance has the Word of God that it cannot change a little bit. And also the Bible says that God has magnified His Word above all His name as we read in Psalms 138:2, "I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name."

So from above verses we can see that Word of God is unchangeable or immutable. But I see Muslims claiming that Bible is corrupted or Church fathers have written over again and again so that the message is changed. But is it reality? Of course not! When God gave the Law to Moses then God said to him for a King in Deuteronomy 17:18-20, "Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites. And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel."

And for people in Josh 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

How is it possible that a person who is having this Law in his heart and meditating on it day and night will suddenly change and he may never know this? How it is possible that Bible will corrupt when they made so many copies of it. And recent archaeological discoveries of Bible manuscripts proved that Bible is not at all changed because they found so many copies of Old testament and New Testament books.

But when we come to Quran we can see that the whole message of the Bible is changed in Quran. The message of the Bible, which was unchanged till the time of Mohammed, is changed in Quran, I heard Muslims say that, Quran and Islam has abrogated all the previous religion (Judaism and Christianity) and its scriptures (Old Testament and New Testament). Why? If Allah is the same God then why he would abrogate Old Testament and New Testament or Judaism and Christianity? He should not! If Quran is sent by Yahweh/Elohim God then why it should change, it should not! If Allah is the same Yahweh God then what he said in OT and NT are just fake and does not make any sense because in OT and NT He says His Word stands forever and He gives so much importance to Word of God but in Quran he changed his word? Does not it show that God of the Bible did not send the Quran and God of the Bible is not the God of the Quran.
