Yesterday, 4th July was the Independence Day of USA. This is a great country where we enjoy all kinds of freedom. But behind the scenes young men and women petrol and protect our nation. They even risk their lives to give us freedom and a safe place to live. When enemy comes in, they fight against them and even shed their blood for the safety of our country. The cost of independence is not very cheap. If you look back you can see many young men and women who gave their precious lives for this country. They shed their blood to gain the freedom of this nation.
If you are living in peace, if you are happy and free in this nation, it is because someone had already paid the price for you - young solders who gave their lives for our freedom.
It is true that we are living in a free nation but the question is, are our lives free from all bondages? Though you may be living in a free country, it is possible that you are in the prison of your sins, addictions, bad habits, sicknesses or depression. But the good news is, you need not to be in bondage anymore, because someone has already paid the price for your sin, sinful nature, bondage, addiction etc.
Jesus came down in this world to take away all our sins on the cruel cross to die on our behalf so that we may never be in sin but we may come out of our sins and bondages and may enjoy the freedom - A life which is free from sin and guilt. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:4-6, "Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
Yes, Jesus paid the price of our freedom and this free gift is available today for free. Just invite Jesus in your life and He will make you free.
I am glad to place this Issue in your hands as we are approaching the 5th Year of this magazine. This magazine has completed 4 years on the net. God has not only blessed this magazine but has touched many lives. All glory, honor and praise belong to Jesus alone. In this Issue read a very special report of it.
Allah and Elohim - Are they same God? part 18

When we read the Bible we can understand how God did mighty things time and time again. Bible tells us about the God of the Bible as a miracle working God. And the Bible tells us in Job 5:9, "Who does great things, and unsearchable, Marvelous things without number."
When the Angel of the Lord came to Gideon he asks the Angel, "where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?" (Judges 6:13)
He did marvelous things from the beginning and these miracles followed in every prophets and apostles lives but when we come to Quran we can see that not a single miracle is reported by Mohammed. But Muslims claim that Quran itself is a miracle of miracles. Allah himself challenged repeatedly to bring a Sura like this as we read in:
Al-Baqara (The Cow)
Sura 2:23, "And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true."
But a few months back when one web site came up with the challenge and showed many Surrat like it, the site owner got many threats and finally discontinued from his host. Not only that, there are many literatures, which not only meet the challenge of Allah but beat the quality of Quranic verses. Bible's Psalms and Proverbs are more fascinating and wonderful than Quranic Suras. Many great men and women wrote poems but does it mean these literatures are miracle or wonder from God?
God of the Bible shows miracle working power from Genesis to Revelation in the Bible. When the Israelites were in the wilderness they were led by the mighty power of God. God led them with a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud and protected them from the Egyptian army who was following them. Egyptian army could not catch them. When they came near Red Sea God parted it in two and made a way in between and the Israelites went to the other side of sea but the Egyptian army was drowned in it. God fed them, gave them water to drink and the Bible tells us that they never lacked anything. Bible also tells us in Deuteronomy 29:5,"And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet."
Oh, what type of clothes and sandals it could have been that did not wear out? Today we have all the modern technology but no sandals can go for more than 2-3 years. Yes, God of the Bible is a miracle working God. Today also He can do the same what He did for Moses and Israelites. But if Allah is the same god then why he could not do even a single miracle through Mohammed?
Mystery of missing day:
We read in Joshua 10:12-13, "Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon. So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day."
And also the Bible tells us in 2 King 20:9-11, "Then Isaiah said, "This is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing which He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees or go backward ten degrees?" And Hezekiah answered, "It is an easy thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; no, but let the shadow go backward ten degrees." So Isaiah the prophet cried out to the LORD, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz."
Today NASA has proved that there is a missing day in elapsed time and the description was found in the Bible. Few days back I got this article in my mailbox which I am pasting here:
Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called "myth" in the Bible is true?
Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland, and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.
"I think one of the most amazing things that God has done for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at GreenBelt, Maryland. They were checking out where the positions of the sun, moon, and planets would be 100 years and 1,000 years from now. We have to know this so we won't send up a satellite and have it bump into something later on in its orbits. We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.
"They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries, and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong with either the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards. They called in the service department to check it out, and they said, 'What's wrong?' Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time. They scratched their heads and tore their hair. There was no answer. "Finally a Christian man on the team said, 'You know, one time I was in Sunday school, and they talked about the sun standing still.' While they didn't believe him, they didn't have an answer either, so they said, 'Show us.'
"He got a Bible and went to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with 'common sense.' There they found the Lord saying to Joshua, 'Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before you.
"Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy, and if darkness fell, they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That's right...'The sun stood still and the moon stayed and lasted not to go down about a whole day!' (Joshua 10:12-13).
"The astronauts and scientists said, 'There is the missing day!'
They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes... not a whole day.
"They read the Bible, and there it was 'about (approximately) a day.' These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes, you'll still be in trouble 1,000 years from now. Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits.
"As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS. The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story:
Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said 'Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?' Hezekiah said, 'It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.' Isaiah spoke to the Lord, and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD!
"Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes! Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in 2nd Kings make the missing day in the universe!"
Isn't it amazing?
Yes, it is amazing to hear that Bible and its miracle are so accurate. And if Allah is the same as the God of the Bible then he should have done mighty miracles in the lives of people but we do not see any quality of miracle working power in Allah. So it also proves that Allah is not the Elohim/Yahweh God.

It was really interesting to read the report on the messages of Bishop Sam Mathew Thirumeni at Chicago.
What I liked most is the testimony on spiritual healing. In this modern age when people find it difficult to comprehend the dimension of spiritual healing, the witnesses of the healing power of God is very much needed. I pray that God strengthen our faith in Lord Jesus through the messages of Thirumeni, and bless the bishop abundantly to carry on the mission of the Gospel with renewed vigor.

Kuwait United Vacation Bible School - 2001
The St Peter's CSI Congregation Kuwait and Mar Thoma parish of Kuwait are jointly conducting VBS since 1984.
This year the VBS was conducted from 15th June - 30th June every day between 3.30PM and 6.30 PM.
The Final day talent Program will be on 6th July. The theme for this year's VBS was " Beauty for Ashes" taken from Isaiah 61:3a. There were 535 Children from age group of 5 years to 16 years. arranged in Beginner primary , Junior , Intermediate , and senior classes. Fifty five dedicated teachers 12 Volunteers , 22 executive committe members, 4 Office bearers 3 Patrons , 1 Superintendent and 1 Director served faithfully to effectively conduct the VBS. There were singing sessions , opening day rally and class lessons. Special days were observed : day of Cleanliness, day of Inspection, Day of Love feast; day of Dedication and witnessing etc.
KUVBS -Director Rev Ninu Chandy came from India. Rev Ninu Chandy , is the Vicar of Kunamkullam Mar Thoma Parish. Superintendent was Rev.P.J.Samuel , Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish, Rev Dr P.S.Daniel Vicar of Mar Thoma parish Kuwait Rev. Sam samuel Vicar of CSI Congregation Kuwait and Rev Thomas Mathew of Mar Thoma Parish Ahmadi served as Patrons.
