Psalms 91:3-6, "Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday."
This is the promise of God for those who look towards Him and walk in His ways. He is the God who protects and cares for His people. I remember how God miraculously protected us from all dangers which could have destroyed our lives when on 3rd December 1984 MIC (Methyl Isocyanate) gas which is extremely toxic for human and animal leaked from Union Carbide pesticide factory at Bhopal. It killed almost 8,000 or more people. We were with in the affected area but the wind carried the toxic gas towards our area changed direction and it did not effect us at all while almost half a mile away people died and had problems because they inhaled the toxic gas. God miraculously protected us according to His promise and no harm came near our dwellings as the Bible says in Psalms 91:10, "No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;"
Are you afraid of Anthrax or the attack of terrorists? You need not to be afraid because God Himself will protect you and your family members. When the Israelites came out of Egypt and went through the wilderness God protected them from all evil as we read in Deuteronomy 8:15, " who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;"
Yes, my friends, God wants to protect you from all evil. He wants to give you His protection. If you look to Him, He will deliver you out of every fear and protect you from all evil. That is why Jesus came down to deliver us from all bondage, fear, sin, pain, sorrow and death. Healing and deliverance comes from His cross. Invite Jesus in your life and He will protect you, He will remove every fear from your heart.
The way the truth and the life

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
These words of Jesus may seem to be very light or may appear to be not of much value but in this small sentence what a treasure of doctrine is embedded. Let us meditate on what Jesus wanted to say through this verse.
The way:
In the above passage Jesus made it clear that there is no other way to heaven except Jesus Himself. Those who come to Jesus will go to heaven others will not. Ones upon a time we lived near a location where there was a thick forest having a small way to cross through it. Many forest people used this location for some kind of training. They used to put small signboards of arrows for their colleagues, which led them to a particular place or tree where their lunchboxes were kept. If they follow every sign correctly then they could reach to their lunch box but if they missed even a small sign then they have to be hungry that day.
Yes, how much important it is to follow correct direction not only for this world to reach our destinations but also for reaching heaven. If we miss the correct way then there is no chance to arrive at our final destination. I am sure that you do not want to miss your final destination that is heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way" means there is no other way to reach heaven but He is the only way to heaven. If you want to go to heaven you must follow Jesus by inviting Him in your life as your Lord and Savior.
The truth:
Again in the above verse Jesus made it clear that He is the only truth. Bible tells us that every man is a liar and Bible also tells us about devil that he is a liar.
Once there was a young boy who used to steal pencil, rubber or small things from his school but his mother never rebuked him or told him, not to do this. When this young boy grew up, he became a robber and he was caught in a big crime. On the day of execution he was asked, "what is your last wish?" He said, "I want to say something in my mother's ear." When his mother came near him, he did bite her ear and said to her, "if you had stopped me in my childhood, I would have not seen this day."
A young boy who was not stopped from telling lie, stealing, doing robbery etc. had to face death by being hanged. Today many are heading to eternal death believing on falsehood. They do not know the great danger which is ahead of them but Jesus who is the truth came down to rescue us from hell fire. Today we can escape death by trusting on the truth.
The Life:
Today, scientists are trying to find out the source of life. How life came in this planet? They did various experiments to create life in laboratory but till this time they failed to create any kind of life in laboratory. Some tried to combine different kinds of chemical crystals in high pressure and high heat but still they could not find any sign of life in that. Scientist could make different varieties of the same species but they could never produce life in laboratory.
But Jesus came and said, "I am the Life". How He could say that? Because He is the source of life. The Bible says that He is the creator of all things. By His breath He gave life to human. He made heaven and earth, He made bird, animal and every living creatures which is still a mystery for scientist. Not only Jesus gave the temporary life on this earth but He promised eternal life for those who believe on Him. If you want to live eternally then you need to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. And He will give you a new life - eternal life.

Our Moderator Rt. Rev. Dr. K. J. Samuel had a heart attack couple of days ago and he was recovering. We are thankful to everyone for your prayers. Please continually remember him in your prayers.

Rev. Thomas Samuel is selected as new Bishop of central Kerala Diocese. Our best wishes and prayers are with him in his new responsibility. May the good Lord help our new Bishop to take central Kerala Diocese to new spiritual heights.
