John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

When Jesus was about to leave this world, He promised His disciples that He will not leave them as orphans but will be sending His Holy Spirit to them as comforter. He also told them that Holy Spirit would come and dwell in them and will guide them in all truth and show them the things of future. In other words, Holy Spirit will reveal their future to them.

But how many believe in these verses spoken by Jesus Himself? Many think that God does not tell everything which is of concern to us or that He does not guide us everyday. Many think that, whatever is happening in our lives whether bad or good, according to everything is God’s will. But the whole Bible tells us of a different story. All those persons who walked with God in the Bible, he/she sought the will of God and were in constant contact with God. They got instructions from God on each and every moment of their lives. They spoke with God back and forth and asked questions if they had any doubt. Even God told them the things, which they can expect in their future life and what He would do in their lives. And Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”

When God sent Moses to deliver the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt, God told him exactly what He would do next and what the next step He will be taking and it happened exactly. But many will say, because Moses was a prophet God spoke to him and may be God would not speak to ordinary people. And some may say that it was in Old Testament that God spoke to people, but now He does not speak anymore. But not only Old Testament, but New Testament also records such incidents when God spoke to ordinary people and led them in every aspect of their lives. Jesus’ disciples were ordinary fishermen, but Jesus chose them to work for Him with might and power. They were filled with Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit led them till their lives end. And Jesus said clearly that when Holy Spirit will come upon you, He will tell you what is ahead of you and guide you.

Joseph was filled with Holy Spirit and he could tell the meaning of king’s dream. And pharaoh says in Genesis 41:38, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" If you want to know your future, if you want the right direction in your life, you need the filling of the Holy Spirit in your life. And Holy Spirit is given to only those who are born of God or those who are child of God. God will not reveal His secretes to a person who is not in His family - Just like we keep our family secret matters within our family and we do not disclose it to strangers. The same thing is with God, unless you are a child of God, you cannot know His perfect will for you.

Don’t think that whatever is happening in your life is according to the will of God, no, but you have to know the will of God for your life and you have to work hard to fulfill the will of God. Abraham took Hagar as his wife but it was not the will of God. When Ishmael was born, God said to Abraham that He would establish an everlasting covenant with his son born to Sarah. Then Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him” (Genesis 17:18-19).

Though it seemed good to Abraham to have Hagar as his wife, but it wasn’t the will of God and God did not establish His covenant with Ishmael for the same reason. It may seem to you that your life is going on without a problem and everything appearing to go smooth but still you may not be in the center of the will of God.

Yes, my friend, unless you come in the center of God’s will, you cannot enjoy the blessings of God that He has kept for you. God has a unique plan for each and every person. You have to know that plan and walk according to that plan. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please accept Him and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit. When Holy Spirit comes into your life, He will guide you in every moment of your life.

The festival of Passover is for both Jews and Christians. It is celebrated as the day of deliverance and the day of freedom from the hard bondage of Egypt. In Exodus 11th chapter God said to Moses that He would send one more plague and then Pharaoh will allow them to go and worship in the wilderness. The plague which God was about to send on the Egyptians was that God will go through the land at midnight and kill every firstborn of the Egyptians.

God also said in 12th chapter of Exodus that this plague will not come upon Israelites. God told them how to protect themselves. He said in Exodus 12:3-5, "Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: “On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man's need you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.”

These verses tell us that a blameless and innocent lamb was needed for the redemption of their lives. In the New Testament, Jesus who was the blameless, innocent and pure Lamb of God came down to redeem our souls from eternal death. On the one side there is punishment of God equally for everyone who sins against Him, but on the other side there is forgiveness of sin for those who accept the redemption of God. There is no other way to get forgiveness of our sins except through Jesus’ blood.

Further the Bible says in Exodus 12:6-13, “Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire; its head with its legs and its entrails. You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

Israelites did according to the word of God. And God protected Israelites from death and destruction but every Egyptian’s firstborn were dead. How the Israelites saw the protection of God? Because when God saw the blood of the lamb on the doorposts, He passed over those houses and did not destroy them. He literally passed over those houses where He saw the blood of the lamb.

My dear friend, Jesus the Lamb of God shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that God’s punishment may not come upon us and that we should not experience death and destruction. God wants to protect us from eternal death. If you have not yet applied the blood of Jesus in your life then it is time to invite Him in your life and preserve your life for eternity. When He will see the blood of the Lamb on your life’s doorpost and lintels He will not destroy you but He will pass over you. If you want eternal life, if you want to go to heaven you need the blood of Jesus to wash you and redeem you from your sin.

In the above verses Bible also tells us how the Passover Lamb should be sacrificed and eaten. It was a ceremony for the whole family and for the whole nation to partake in the sacrificial lamb’s feast. This sacrifice was the symbol of what was about to happen on the cross for the redemption of every soul who are destined to eternal death. The Passover lamb was roasted wholly and eaten with bitter herbs. Prior to the crucifixion of Jesus, He took bread and wine and gave to His disciples and said in, Mat 26:26-28, “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

On the cruel cross He was given to drink bitter vinegar mingled with sour wine and gall - A taste of the bitterness of this life and bitterness of death. Yes, Jesus tasted the ultimate bitterness on the cruel cross so that we need never to taste the bitterness of death in our lives.

The Bible says in Exodus 12:46, "In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones.”

Jesus died on the cross but none of His bones were broken. Bible says in John 19:33, “But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.” And in John 19:36, ‘For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken."’

This is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover. This is the day when Jesus broke all the bondages of sin and the snares of death to redeem us from eternal damnation. Because of His death, because of His sacrifice we have hope that we can live forever. If you have not yet received the eternal life then it is time to invite Jesus in your life and accept His redemption in your life.
