Bible tells us in 1 Cor 15:56-57, "The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." And also in 1 John 5:4-5, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"

God wants us to be victorious in every field of our lives. He delights in giving victory to His children over sin, temptations, problems and over life's different situations. Without Him it is impossible to have a victorious life in every field of your life.

There was a time in my life when I did not know God though I was born in a devote Christian family. My life was complete failure. Whatever I touched it ended up in complete disaster and complete failure. I struggled and struggled in my exams to score even passing marks. No matter how hard I tried the success was far-far away from me. There was nothing but great frustration, guilt of not coming up to the expectations of my parents, shame of defeat and complete disappointment and dissatisfaction in my life. I realized that I am no good for anybody not even for myself. Great fear gripped my soul thinking I have no future, if I continued in that failure. At times I thought that, "why I should live like this anymore... and why not end my life and get rid of all fear and worries of my life." But I am glad that God protected me from all evil plots and plans of devil.

In those frustrating moments of my life I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I confessed all my sins before Him and invited Him to come into my heart. My surrounding situations did not change over night but a great peace filled my soul. All the feelings of frustration and disappointment left me. God slowly started blessing my studies and me. My failures turned into victory.

After finishing my B.Sc (BS), I had no courage to go for any further studies. I thought, "I may not be able to bear the pain of anymore failures in my life." But that time one evangelist came to our home and while we were talking he said, "If you will not study any further, there is no future for you. Because even in any street you can find hundreds of young people who have B.Sc. Degree and they are wandering without a job." He continued further, "How could you expect to get a good job without having much qualification?" His advice seemed valid to me. So in the next session, I applied for M.Sc. (Master of Science) but because I had only 54% marks in my Bachelor's degree program, I could not get admission. Meanwhile I applied for M.A. and joined the course. About two months later one day I was glancing through the college notice board and to my surprise, I saw my name in the list of M.Sc. I could not believe... how it could be, I thought. I read it again and again and it was indeed my name. So I went inside the office to inquire whether it was my name on the list or not. The office clerk looked at the list and confirmed my name. She said, "The University has just changed the rules last week..." I stood their stunned thinking, "University changed rules just to accommodate me?" I have no idea what she said after that. The last thing I remember of walking out of the office building having great excitement and anxiety at the same time. Excitement of having a seat in M.Sc., but the anxiety thinking, "Will I make it this time without failure?"

After reaching home, I spent much time asking God whether it was His will or not. To make the long story short, I joined the M.Sc. I prayed that, "Lord, Please help me to get at least second division but make sure that I may not fail this time." I prayed and also worked very hard. There were days when I studied until 3 or 4 O'clock in the morning. I can say that I prayed more than I studied. When results came, God blessed me beyond what I had asked to Him. He gave me first class and second position in my college. Because of my high ranking, I was offered assistant professor's job in the same college. In India where nothing is possible without giving bribe, God made a way for me to have a job without paying single naya paisa (Indian currency).

Second thing Jesus did in my life was, He took away all worries of my future from my heart.

Yes, there is a God who wants to bless us beyond our imagination, our thinking or even asking. Bible says in Eph 3:20, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,"

I know that many of you are going to face annual exams soon. Are you in similar situation? Give your life to Jesus He can help you. He will make you victorious in every field of your life. Because of sin Adam and Eve could not come to the expectations of their heavenly Father but He made a way. He came down in this world and gave His precious life for us so that we could come out of our sins and excel in every field of our life. Give Him a try He will not disappoint you.

How to please the Great Almighty God?

By V. Christopher Suresh

Greetings to you in the great name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The bible says in 1 John 3:22 “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." We have to examine ourselves, whether we are receiving whatever we ask in prayer from our Almighty God or not. As children of God, washed with His precious blood, we obey His commandments and we live a holy life. But the question is whether the things we are doing are pleasing to His sight or not. It does not mean that following His commandments is doing things that are pleasing in His sight. Following the commandments and Pleasing God are two different aspects. Pleasing God is doing things that are acceptable to Him. In Ephesians 5:8,10 the Bible says “(8)….But now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light (10) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord." Also in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." We shall prove from the word of God, what are the things we have to do which is acceptable and please to Him.

1) Spiritual life pleases our God
In Romans 8:8 “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” If the man lives by the flesh, he cannot please God and If he lives a spiritual life, He pleases God. In the subsequent verse Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." The life led by the Holy spirit of God is like our Almighty Father holding the hands of His child and walking. In Romans 8:14 the bible says “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (daughters) of God." Really this type of life pleases God. Our Almighty God has given us a wonderful opportunity to be called as his children. We can call Almighty Lord Jesus Christ as Abba, Father. In John 1:12,13 “But as many as received Him (Lord Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become the sons (daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His name."

Fine, a Spiritual Life pleases our Almighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should know this spiritual life and live it to please our Almighty Father. In Mathew 7:16, the bible says “Ye shall know them by their fruits…” which is called the fruits of the spirit. The spiritual life is a life of giving the fruits of the spirit. The fruits are in Galatians 5:22-25 “But the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." The above characters are the outcome from a spiritual person. If you want to bear the above fruits of the Spirit of God, you shall be attached with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abides in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing”. A life with Lord Jesus Christ is a spiritual life and we shall bear the spiritual fruits of love, joy, peace, long-suffering etc, and He is well pleased of us.

2) Prayer pleases God
Job 33:26 “He shall pray unto God, and he will be favorable unto Him and he shall see His face with joy, for he will render unto man His righteousness” The Bible says that the Man will be favorable unto the Lord, when he is praying to Him. We can receive favor from anyone, only if we please him/her. Therefore, to receive favor from our Heavenly father, we have to pray. Prayer is nothing but talking to our Heavenly father, by praises, thanks giving and supplication.

We see in the Bible, Daniel a Man of prayer, called by God as Beloved. In Daniel Chapter 9, we can read the Prayer of Daniel. Verse 20 & 23: “And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision." Daniel spent more time in prayer. It is an experience of relaxing and accepted by our Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, had 12 disciples and one of them was called John who was very close to Him. In the last supper which Jesus had with His disciples, the Bible says about John in John 13:23 “Now there was leaning on Jesus bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.” again in John 13:25, “He then lying on Jesus’ breast says unto Him, Lord, who is it?" Subsequently, we understand that John was a man of prayer in Revelation 1:10 “I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.” We can also have the same experience of John, very close to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, pleasing Him by our prayer life. We can find a list of Men of God in the Bible right from Enoch, Noah, Abraham, etc in whose prayers God was well pleased. Let us be also in the bottom of the list.

One of the prayer point which pleases our Lord is found in 1 Timothy 2:1 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” Here the Bible says to pray for kings and men in authority, that is rulers. This is good and acceptable to God. This pleases our Almighty God. Our Almighty God wants us to live a peaceful life and not to be troubled by any authorities. In today’s world majority of the countries are ruled by people who never accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Therefore, the evil Satan can easily use them against the children of God. To prevent such calamities, God wants us to pray for the rulers. He is well pleased of such prayer points because He is a God of peace. The Lord takes the hearts of the kings and rulers in His hands, turns them as the streams of water to our favor. What a great opportunity for us, as children of God. We have such an access to our God’s authority, which is the Authority of last resort, by praying to Him.

Our loving heavenly father, wants us to live a peaceful life without temptations. He says in Luke 22:40 “…..Pray that ye enter not into temptation.”

Let us pray: Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, we praise You, glorify You and worship You. We thank you for your words to live a life pleasing in your sight. Help us to explore from the word of God, more knowledge to do acts pleasing in your sight and be called Your beloved. All glory, honor and praises to You. In the Holy name of Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

God's Divine Provision and Protection - Part 2

By Sherly Isaac

You might have read my sister's article "Ministry is not a bed of Roses" at and also 2nd and 3rd parts of that message. God divinely protected and provided for us in those days.

Everyday when I read the newspaper, I was completely devastated because most of the time it reported, how someone's life was in danger. Though he had filed complaints with police yet was murdered after many months or even years. I always thought, "May be one day, this will be the end of our lives too." Those stories filled great horror in our souls. But we put our trust in the Lord. We gave our worries to God and believed that, He is able to protect us from all evil.

Of course He protected us and kept us alive. As He said in Zec 2:8, "for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye." No one could touch us nor could come near us. Bible tells us in Luke 13:31-32, "On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You. And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'" No one could touch Jesus either until His time came not even the King Herod.

One day my mom and I went nearby shop to purchase some grocery. Two young men followed us from a distance. One was saying loudly to other, "what a pity that you could not even drive away a small goat." He repeated again and again the same thing. We knew that, it was not because of our ability or might but because of God's divine protection for His children, we survived.

Once we could not go out of our house for many days. We had no idea how to draw money from our bank account and purchase grocery. That time we were running a small craft class. One day out of the blue five girls came to learn certain courses and we received 500/- Rs. (Indian Currency). It was an amount that has God miraculously provided for us and was sufficient for us to survive for many days without worrying about going to bank.

Are you worried today about your safety and provisions? The same God who protected us and provided us, the same God who did mighty things for His children from ages, could do the same thing for you.
